Chinyanta inspects Matero projects
I HAVE embarked on conducting inspections on projects that are taking place in the ward and check on the progress and ensure that these are of quality works, Matero Ward 28 councillor Annie Chinyanta has said.
Ms Chinyanta who conducted an impromptu tour to check on the construction of drainages and bridges in the area, is happy at the pace of the works so far.
She however, cautioned the contractor working on drains and on bridges to ensure that the projects are completed before the onset of rain season.
Ms Chinyanta is worried that if the drains and small bridges were not completed before rains start, people would continue facing challenges with transport. She observed that there is need to have proper drains in the area because the area was prone to floods and that would also affect movement of people and motorists as roads get affected too.
She said the people of Matero ward have been crying for proper drainages and other social amenities and it was her duty to ensure that this was provided for.
The PF leadership, she said, would ensure that development was delivered in all parts of the country including her ward.
She also urged the residents to look after public infrastructure especially the drainages that were being constructed. She observed that some disgruntled members of public were in the habit of vandalizing public infrastructures with impunity and warned that those found wanting face the law.
