THE Patritic Front mobilization committee should wake up and cut short its honeymoon to embark on a vigorous campaign as the opposition have set 3 million voters as their target, PF die hard Maxwell Chongu has said.

Mr Chongu urged newly appointed PF national mobilisation Chairman, Richard Musukwa and his committee

to immediately embark on vigorous N.R.C acquisition awareness programmes in party strongholds as one way of increasing numbers and voters.

He warned that the opposition which were targeting to win over about three million eligible voters had crossed two million.

“On a daily basis the opposition has set up teams which they have given specific targets in terms of assisting people obtain NRC’s in their strongholds and these teams have been both well-structured and funded to ensure that desired results are achieved,” said Mr Chongu.

Mr Chongu said several light trucks had been scattered by the opposition in rural areas of their strongholds to ensure that their numbers were doubled in some cases tripled.

He said that it was worrisome to see that there were no mobilisation activities coming from the ruling party and wondered how people in charge expected numbers to grow.

He advised the mobilisation team to immediately get back to work and start mobilising the party PF in readiness for 2021.

“Let’s take advantage, Lusaka Province alone currently seats on 1, 200, 000 voters according to ECZ 2016 records with the possibility of the number shooting to 6, 000, 000 before 2021,” he said.

And Mr Musukwa has said the committee would set up a mobilising scheme across the country in order to capture more people by 2021.

Mr Musukwa said the party would roll out the scheme to sensitive many youths to acquire NRCs in it’s strongholds as well as in opposition strongholds so that the party can command an increased number of membership.
