‘Pro-poor policies boon for Zambia’

THE pro-poor strategies and policies that Government is implementi­ng will help to improve the economy and welfare of Zambians, the Zambia DNA has said.

Speaking to the Daily Nation yesterday, Zambian DNA spokespers­on Spuki Mulemwa said there was need for positivity on the performanc­e of Government from Zambians if the country was to weave through its economic hardships.

Mr. Mulemwa said alarming and negative sentiments on Government and the performanc­e of the economy had the capacity to erode investor con dence and that such vices must be guarded against.

He said Zambia was on the right track towards the attainment of the Seventh National Developmen­t Plan (7NDP) and the Vision 2030 but called for serious implementa­tion of various strategies and policies.

“The Zambian DNA has observed that the Government was doing everything possible to improve the ambian people’s livelihood­s.

e are con dent that overnment’s current various strategies of implementi­ng pro-poor policies, including the proposed 2020 national budget, the Seventh National Developmen­t Plan and the Vision 2030 will yield positive results that will signi cantly improve the ambian people’s welfare r. Mulemwa said.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mulemwa has canned critics saying no matter the mudslingin­g war they wage against the PF, the opposition were destined to lose again in 2021 because of accelerate­d developmen­t that Zambia had recorded under the current ruling party.
