Ndola Library in Airtel book galore
AIRTEL Zambia has donated 40 traditional ceremony books to Ndola Public Library in an effort to uplift people's knowledge.
Ndola City Council acting Town Clerk Wisdom Bwalya and Director Human Resources and Administration Yombwe Chisamu received the donation.
Airtel Zambia Copperbelt Zonal Business Manager Edwin Mwampatisha noted that the reading levels and access to reading materials was central to unblocking potential resources which could benefit individuals as well as the nation.
Mr Mwampatisha stated that Airtel valued culture and tradition as that was the cornerstone of origin of the people. He said it was therefore important for people to acquire knowledge about their culture and traditions by providing traditional ceremony books in libraries.
Mr Mwampatisha was speaking during the handing over ceremony at Ndola Public Library in the Central Business District. "Our hope is that as many people as possible who come through to this library will have the opportunity to have access to these books which we are donating today and are worth K21000," he said.

Mr Bwalya said that literacy was a skill which needed to be enhanced and the donation of books would go a long way in helping the people.
And Ndola City Council Director Housing and Social Services Gladys Lilanda said that the books would be shared in all the public libraries in the city so that everyone could have access to the materials.
