HH DONATIONS FAKE, SAYS PF
HAKAINDE Hichilema’s recent donations are fake, mischievous and desperate moves for cheap political mileage, Patriotic Front (PF) Central Committee Member (MCC) Paul Moonga has charged. and frustrating government efforts in the distribution of relief food to the affected citizens in the country.
Mr Moonga, however, said the ruling party welcomes any genuine form of donations that would help to mitigate hunger in the areas that have been affected by prolonged drought following the poor rainfall recorded in the previous season provided the individuals were willing to come through the Disaster mitigation and management unit (DMMU).
He said if UPND was genuinely donating, they should have used the right channel that was through DMMU or Ministry of Community development to make their donations instead of taking advantage of the situation for political publicity.
“Government through DMMU has a platform where such donations should be expended and not through political parties and the reason is simple to avoid confusion.
“Our advice to UPND leadership, if they have a lot of food relief or materials to donate, they should do so through DMMU or the ministry of community development or better still if they find it difficult to adhere to this requirement,” Mr Moonga said.
He said it was unacceptable for UPND leader to take over government roles when government through DMMU was doing a good job in distributing relief food.
