‘Don’t preach vengeance’

- By ROGERS KALERO

POLITICIANS should not preaching vengeance as this can lead to escalation of violence in the country, Patriotic Front (PF) Member of the Central Committee (MCC) Timothy Walamba has cautioned Mr Walamba said opposition leaders should not force their way into government by inciting people to rise against those in authority, but should preach peace and unity in diversity. He was speaking in an interview in Kitwe. Mr Walamba said those aspiring to become republican President must not force their way into government. “No matter what sort of divisive activities you embark on, no matter what sort of propaganda you embark on, if you are not destined to become republican President, you will not succeed. “The other thing is that leaders are born, they are not made from universities or colleges. You may have money, but you may not have the qualities of being a leader. Those seeking to be leaders must be humble and desist from insulting those in authority,” he said. He said Zambians should not eulogize politics of insults, but should learn to be respectful to those in leadership. Mr Walamba has also advised Zambians not to be excited about the tantrums from some opposition politicians, but seriously analyse the performance of the PF Government in various areas. He said Zambians should also seriously analyse the promises of some opposition parties and how attainable they were. He said in most cases when the country was heading towards elections, some opposition political parties were in the habit of making promises. “So as the country heads towards 2021 elections, politicians will make all sorts of promises including turning Zambia into a paradise or heaven , but when you ask them how, they will not explain how attainable that will be,” he said.
