4 nabbed over leaked exam papers

FOUR WhatsApp group administrators have been arrested by Police in connection with leaking ECZ examination papers, barely more than a week after another two were nabbed.

The Examination of Zambia (ECZ) stated in a statement to the Daily Nation that it had intensified surveillance and monitoring of the 2019 school examinations.

Last week two suspects were arrested in connection with the supply and leaking of suspected examination question papers on social media.

A 19-year-old Grade 12 pupil at Chingola Secondary School is among those arrested.

He was running two WhatsApp groups namely, YOU ARE SAFE TC and CALL ME LATER IAM BUSY where he was sending examination related information to the public.

Others arrested are Sundwa Nyambe 25 of Kanyama Mbasela in Lusaka. Nyambe a security guard at Family Legacy School near Kanyama Clinic in Lusaka who is administrator of Distinction in Best 5pdf WhatsApp group which he later changed to EAGLE NENER MUSIC.

Police also arrested Jonathan Tembo and Dokazia Luhanga all of Nyanje Village in Sinda.

Meanwhile, ECZ has warned perpetrators of examination malpractices that it was working tirelessly with law enforcement agencies to ensure all those found wanting were brought to book.

ECZ corporate affairs officer, Nicolas Nkhuwa said the institution had continued to monitor the conduct of the 2019 School examinations to ensure credibility in the running of examinations in line with best practices.
