Approaching the examinations

- By ANDREA B. MATAMBO, Lusaka.

Dear Editor,

THE examinations - end of year - are almost here. As I wish but the best of success for you, I take this rare moment to remind you of the following: In the first place, reduce distractions as much as possible and zero in on your studies. Put your phone on flight mode when studying or when doing group discussions. Say no to Whatsapp, to Facebook, and to Hista in this crucial period of your existence; Netflix too, even emails and YouTube must be eliminated if they are becoming barriers. By any means, do not let your smart phone, Pc, or social media to wreck your life. Have you friends who are high threats to your studies? Avoid such too during this period, as much and as strongly as you possibly can. This is the time to focus more and to continue studying hard and revising very thoroughly. In the second place, remember that it is not over until you walk out of the examination class after your final paper. For now and until then, therefore, continue studying hard and revising all your necessary materials. Every drop counts and time is of the essence. In the third place, discipline yourself enough not, and never to indulge in examination malpractices. Keep away from leakages. Do not enter the examination room with foreign materials and, once there, please try not to cheat. Do not throw your life away. In a nutshell, I wish you all the very best in your final examinations. May providence be with you. May you conquer. May you overcome! Farewell!
