Livingstone PF boss banned
THE Patriotic Front (PF) has suspended its Livingstone district chairman Sibeso Siyanga.
Mr Siyanga’s suspension follows a provincial disciplinary committee’s decision which sat in Choma at the weekend.
According to insiders, the district chairma has been suspended for alleged misappropriation of party funds and illegal land allocation in Kasiya Ward.
Sources told the Daily Nation in Livingstone that Mr Siyanga misappropriated the funds from a party fundraising dinner which was graced by the Secretary General Davis Mwila in August last year.
“I can confirm that our district chairman in Livingstone Sibeso Siyanga has been suspended pending investigation for misappropriation of party funds raised during a fundraising dinner which the SG Mr Mwila graced last year, ” said the sources who preferred not to be named.
The sources said in view of Mr Siyanga’s suspension, the party has appointed the district vice chairman John Mukosho to act in the position.
Meanwhile, UPND’s office at Mosi-oa-tunya House in Livingstone has remained closed.
The office was closed by enraged youths last month after the secretary General Stephen Katuka lifted the suspension of six district officials.
In protest against Mr Katuka’s decision, the youth closed the office and now they have gone further to put up a placard, warning party officials not to risk their lives by opening the office.
A check by the Daily Nation found a placard reading “Closed until further notice, please don’t risk your life.”
