UNDER PERFORMING PF members of Parliament (MPs) should pull up their socks or risk being judged harshly in 2021, President Edgar Lungu has warned.
And President Lungu has called for a unity of purpose in the Patriotic Front (PF).
The President warned that divisions among party officials would only work to the advantage of the opposition.
He advised PF members who were at loggerheads to make peace for the sake of the party.
Upon arrival at Mfuwe Airport in Eastern Province, the Head of State said squabbles in the party disturbed him.
The President said the differences among some party should not derail progress in the province.
He has, however, expressed happiness that Eastern Province PF Chairman
Andrew Lubusha and youth provincial chairperson Jay Banda who were recently reported to be at loggerheads had reconciled.
President Lungu has also urged the party top brass in the region to work hand in hand with the Provincial Minister Makebi Zulu to ensure development was delivered.
And President Lungu warned that MPs who were not performing would be judged harshly as individuals in 2021.
He also advised the under performing MPs in the Province to pull up their socks or risk facing the consequences during elections in 2021.
The President said there was still room for the MPs who were not performing to people's expectation to change for the better.
"I have reports that some MPs are not working. But my advice is pull up your socks because in 2021, you will be judged alone," President Lungu said.
