Mwenya Musenge cries foul
MEMBERS of the newly-formed National Development Congress Party (NDCP) are extremely concerned that the Registrar of Societies taking too long to register their political party, Secretary General Mwenya Musenge has said.
Mr Musenge said some members had started leaving the organisation because of the delay to register the party.
He said he was hoping that there was no in uence from the
ruling Patriotic Front (PF) to block the registration of the NDCP which was promising civility in the Zambian political arena.
Mr Musenge is formerly NDC Secretary-General but fell out of favour with leader Chishimba Kambwili and decided to form NDCP whose operations had not taken off.
“Our members are becoming extremely concerned about the delay to register our party. Already we seem to be losing some of our members because they were slowly becoming skeptical about the party being registered.
He however said he was still resolved to register his party so that it could be given an opportunity for Zambian people to see its vision.
“We sincerely appeal to the Registrar of Societies to hasten the process of registering our party. We have abided by every guidance of the Registrar of Societies, but we are failing to understand why it is seems to be dragging to register our
party, he said.
Mr Musenge has stressed that once registered, NDCP would be more focused on selling ideologies than attacking individuals.
He said NDCP would bring civility on the Zambian political scene by focusing on issues of good governance, democracy, food security, poverty alleviation and empowering of local people in various ways,.
