Before you buy a smart phone always check the Sar level because excessive exposure to bad SAR may cause health problems. USEFUL USSD SHORT CODES THAT EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW
IAM going to teach you interesting useful USSD codes for your mobile device that most of you didn’t know about. (USSD) stands for Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD), sometimes referred to as “Quick Codes.”
It’s a communications protocol used by GSM cellular telephones to communicate with the mobile network operator’s computers. USSD can be used for different services such as WAP browsing, prepaid callback service, mobile-money services, location-based content services, menu-based information services, and as part of configuring the phone on the network.
Every mobile device has special numerical features that offer services as designed by the manufacturer or the mobile service provider. Here are some of the most important USSD codes you make use of:
1. (Call Diversion) How to know if someone is diverting your Calls or SMS
If you suspect your calls and texts aren’t getting through, it’s possible that they’re being intercepted somewhere. Call diversion is a phone feature that redirects a phone call or sms to another person.
You can detect diversions by dialing *#21#. This code asks your phone to return a list of information that tells you what numbers are receiving your calls, messages, and data.
Then dial ##002#, which automatically undoes all redirection commands.
Note: Any experienced user can divert your calls or texts within seconds if they have your phone physically, so avoid giving people your phone anyhow, if you suspect someone installed a third party app on your phone then I would advise you back up your info and wipe it
2. Check your phone’s registration details
Dial *101# to check if your cell phone number (MTN, Airtel or Zamtel) is registered under you name or other numbers.
Should you notice any discrepancies or numbers registered under your name that you are not aware of, please visit your nearest service centre for necessary correction and to have them deactivated because unscrupulous people may use them to commit crimes under your alias.
3. Schedule SMS
To send a delayed SMS: Enter at the start of the SMS the text
*Later (seconds)# and replace (seconds) with a number e.g. 15 for 15 seconds
Example:
*Later 30#see you at the meeting
Do not forget the space between later and the seconds!
Note: This does not work with all providers.
4. Check Radiation level (SAR) of your Smartphone. (Continuation)
This simple USSD code *#07# will show you the radiation (sar) level of your Smartphone.
Before you buy a smart phone always check the Sar level because excessive exposure to bad SAR may cause health problems.
Note: not all phone models have the ability to show this USSD code, if it can’t show google your phones model with a “Sar” at the end. 5. Know your IMEI
*#06# The IMEI stands for (International Mobile Station Equipment Identity Number) a unique ussd code number that helps identify your device a measure of the amount of radio frequency energy absorbed by the body when using a mobile phone.
The Federal Communictions Commission (FCC) in the United States has adopted limits for safe exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy which is at 1.6 watts per kilogram (1.6 W/kg).
Any smartphone higher than this SAR level is considered not to be very “safe” however” Other countries have capped it at (2.0 W/kg) which is still okay but a bit too high.
Note: Not all phone models have the ability to show this USSD code, if it can’t show google your phones model with a “Sar” at the end.
