UPND Mandevu popularity mere fantasy – PF

- By AARON CHIYANZO

CLAIMS of regime change and penetrating Mandevu constituency by the United Party for National Development (UPND) are a mere daydream and an act of false hope, PF Mandevu constituency secretary Lemmy Bwalya has said.

Mr Bwalya said Mandevu was the PF bedroom and that no political party could penetrate the constituency.

He was reacting to UPND youth secretary general, Trevor Mwiinde’s claims that Mandevu electorates had vowed not to vote for PF in 2021.

Mr Bwalya, however, wondered how a political party that did not have a manifesto would convince electorates to vote for it.

He said it was all false hope and a mere day dream for the UPND to comfort itself that there would be regime change in 2021.

Mr Bwalya implored Zambians to demand preambles and contents of both manifestos and constitutions of all the political parties in the political arena.

“The citizens of Zambia are number one employers, who should critically scrutinise CVs of each political player before going ahead to offer employment to any party.

“As the party in Mandevu constituency, we’re saddened by claims from Mr. Mwinde and his colleagues that the people of Mandevu have pledged to give UPND support in 2021, it’s all a day dream,” he said.

Mr Bwalya said if the UPND could not utilise the golden opportunity in the 2015 presidential by-election, after the death of President Michael Sata, there was no way they could win a much stronger and united PF.

“It’s baffling to hear that, when they failed to score a penalty in a keeperless goal,” he said.

Mr Bwalya advised Mandevu residents to ignore fake promises from ‘ opportunists’ UPND who he said had no agenda and only took advantage of nature to gain apolitical mileage.
