DEMONIC PASTOR

-

THE deportation of disgraced Nigerian pastor Andrew Ejimadu commonly as Seer1 should send a clear signal to all that even those purporting to be men of God are not immune to the country’s laws.

They must not take advantage of Zambia being a Christian nation that they would be left alone to engage in activities that do not promote or build Christian principles.

If anything, those who are not righteous but come into the country pretending to be men of God as a cover should know that their days are numbered.

We wonder how someone who claims to be a pastor can be so callous as to issue death threats against some of the country’s leaders.

Even if they have somehow annoyed him or failed him in anyway, the last thing anyone expects from a pastor is to wish death on someone. That is not being a child of God.

Minister of National Guidance and Religious Affairs Godfridah Sumaili has already repudiated the Nigerian pastor’s claims and declared that no Minister will die in the next 20 days.

Ms Sumaili described the death threats from Seer1 as wicked and satanic utterances which should not come from a man claiming to be God’s follower.

We cannot agree more.

Which person in his or her right senses would wish death against someone without any reason? It is very strange that this was coming from the mouth of a pastor.

We thought pastors are there to save and lead people to God and not to their deaths?

The pastor’s claims are even more baffling and do not make much sense.

Seer1 threatened some unnamed Patriotic Front Members of Parliament and ministers that they would die in 20 days if they did not “take back the power he gave them to win the 2016 elections.”

But it is obvious that Seer1 is not really a genuine pastor but one of those people who belong to secret cults but pretend that they are men of God.

It is not surprising that sometimes people ask pastors to pray for them for success as they seek political office. That is normal behaviour for a Christian.

But for Seer1 to insinuate that he gave some politicians the power to win the 2016 elections which they must return is strange. It could be they promised him monetary gifts?

But if he was really honest, he would surely expose such leaders so that the nation can know to what lengths people go to try and win elections.

In the absence of any proof, we would ask the people to dismiss Seer 1”s claim with the contempt it deserves for trying to tarnish the reputation of innocent people.

Seer 1’s despicable conduct should also spur the government into action and come up with checks and balances against bogus pastors.

For now, we urge Zambians to heed what Church of God Zambia Cathedral of Miracles Bishop, Naison Nyonyo has said – “ignore such false prophets, as the Bible stated clearly on false prophets, who would appear, claiming the gift of prophecy or divine inspiration, or to speak for God, and making such claims for evil ends.”
