Dambwa clinic gets lavatory

- By ANDREW MUKOMA

THE Livingstone City Council (LCC) has handed over an ablution block which has been constructed at a costt of K 61, 000 to the community of Dambwa Site and Service.

The ablution block which is at Dambwa Site and Service Health Post has been constructed using the 2018 Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

Livingstone Mayor, Eugene Mapuwo, said that infrastructure development was vital in uplifting the living conditions of the poor people.

Mr Mapuwo said clinics were important facilitate and as such, they always needed to have functional lavatories in order to maintain high standards of hygiene.

Mr Mapuwo was speaking during the handover ceremony yesterday.

He commended the CDF committee for choosing Dambwa Site and Service Township as a place where the ablution block has been constructed in.

“I would therefore like to commend your choice to use CDF to construct the ablution block. We shall always endeavour to support such community developments emanating from the choice of the people through the use of CDF.

“This in turn helps to prevent the outbreak of waterborne diseases. As your Mayor, I pledge to support any developmental programmes that improve the living conditions of our people in the district,” he said.

Mr Mapuwo said that it would be sad to see that in a short period of time, the ablution block runs down due to carelessness on part of residents.

And ward councillor Robert Wandila observed that when the health was built two years ago, there was no public ablution block.

Mr Wandila asked the Mayor to engage ZESCO in ensuring that the clinic was connected to electricity.

Mr Mapuwo This in turn helps to prevent the outbreak of waterborne diseases. As your Mayor, I pledge to support any developmental programmes that improve the living conditions of our people in the district,”
