I’LL EXPOSE THEM - GBM

...GBM says he is not scared of UPND or HH.

- By SILUMESI MALUMO AND BENNIE MUNDANDO

IAM not scared of anyone from United Party for National Development (UPND) and some may be arrested for being gassing masterminds, Patriotic Front ( PF ) vice chairperson for mobilisation Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba has said.

Mr Mwamba said he would go ahead to report to police people behind the gassing in the country.

“I will tell the police what I heard, those who are involved whether from UPND or NDC start preparing yourself to go to jail,” Mr Mwamba warned in an interview.

The UPND have reported Mr Mwamba to police for allegedly concealing what he knew about the gassing.

But Mr Mwamba said he was not scared of anyone and he would not relent to report to the police.

He said in an interview yesterday that why was the UPND was rushing to the police when he did not mention names behind the evil acts.

“I think they know something,” he said, “that was why they were rushing to the police.

Mr Mwamba said the UPND were lying to themselves by rushing to the police because they can not scare him.

Mr Mwamba said the entire UPND was too small to scare him.

“If there is anyone from UPND involved in gassing I will expose them. So let them just be ready to be arrested.

“For me I will tell the police exactly who I know who talked about it and who planned for it. It may have taken years but I still have evidence of what the people said about it.

“The UPND should not be scared if they know they are innocent unless they know they are behind what is happening, then they should be scared,” he said

Mr Mwamba said the UPND should know that he would report them if they were involved in the fracas.

“I will not share it with the public but I will share it with authorities. They are being bitter because they know something,” Mr Mwamba said.

And the blame-game between the United Party for National Development (UPND) and the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) over gassing incidents has continued with the former now demanding that Geoffrey Mwamba be summoned by police for saying he knows the people behind the scourge.

But PF media director Sunday Chanda has subtly responded to the UPND demands saying the opposition party’s response to Mr. Mwamba’s statement was reminiscent of “the guilty always being afraid” euphoria and wondered what the panic was about.

Reacting to Mr. Mwamba’s statement yesterday, UPND secretary general Steven Katuka said Zambians had always had strong and compelling suspicions that the PF regime was aware of the people behind the ritual killing and gassing of citizens in their homes.

But commenting on Mr. Katuka’s statement, Mr. Chanda wondered why the UPND was panicking over remarks made by Mr. Mwamba.

“The reaction from the UPND resembles that of the guilty ones being afraid.

When did it become UPND’s business to dictate how and when members of the public should pass on any information to law enforcement agencies in this matter to do with gassing of innocent citizens?

“Not long ago Mr. Hakainde Hichilema assured the public that once his party forms Government, all these things will be a thing of the past.

“Maybe Mr. Katuka should tell the public how Mr. Hichilema’s solution looks. That would interest the public because we are all looking for a speedy solution. That should be Mr. Katuka’s concern,” Mr. Chanda said.
