MP wants support for police station

THE private sector and individuals have been urged to support the establishment of a police station in Bwana Mkubwa constituency in
Ndola.
Bwana Mkubwa Member of Parliament (MP), Jonas Chanda, the police station was very important as it would provide security services to the community and companies.
Dr Chanda said security was the first need of all human beings, hence the reason the first duty of any Government was to protect the lives and property of the citizens.
e said the first modern police station which was being constructed in Mushili township, would have all key facilities and services found in a modern police station.
He indicated that the design was from engineers at the Ministry of Home Affairs headquarters in Lusaka.
“We are constructing the modern Police station using part of CDF (K1.1 million) while I’ve also actively engaged corporate partners and businessmen to supplement efforts,” he said. -Mr

The MP thanked Ndola Lime Limited, Kaleza Investments, Handyman’s Lime, Neelkanth Lime, Zambezi Portland, Badwi Transporters and Nizam Crushers for donating building materials towards the construction.
The companies rendered help as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
Dr Chanda said he would continue appealing to Government to support the completion of the police station as well as the construction of police houses. He said the police station would consist of a traffic section, community police, intelligence, Victim Support Unit, criminal investigation department, armoury, administrative offices, and four holding cells.
