Gomes bounce back

…as Auto thump Castle Fives to stay top

- By MICHAEL MIYOBA

AFTER being humiliated 13-0 by Indy Bullets in a Wildcat Premier Futsal League Week20 fixture, Saints Gomes redeemed themselves by thumping BS Stars 8-4 in a week 21 PFL fixture, at Automotive Indoor Futsal Arena.

Gomes completed a double on BS Stars who were also thumped 4-2 when the two teams faced off during a week six fixture played on October 6 last year.

The victory increased Gomes chances of qualifying for the second round after moving to 28 points as they occupy the last position in the top eight.

Meanwhile, the clash of the titans between Castle Five and defending Champions Automotive FC ended badly for Castle Five who were humiliated 12-2.

The victory saw Automotive competing a double on Castle Five and maintaining their unbeaten record in the league.

After collecting maximum three points, Auto continue to dominate the PFL with 57 points, nine points ahead of second placed Alliance Inter who beat Pembe Beetles 5-3 over the Weekend to move to 48 points.

In other fixtures, Colosul Young Boys fought hard and managed to get a point after they held K-line FC to a 4-4 stalemate.

The stalemate was deemed as a positive result for Young Boys who were battered 5-3 by Castle Five in their previous league fixture.

Meanwhile, Witson Nyirenda’s tutored Indy Bullets thumped TamangaJuldan 11-1 while Vector Academy walloped struggling Lilanda Bullets 7-5.
