Activist counsels opposition politician­s

OPPOSITION politician­s may not achieve any desirable results in their political careers if they continue to be driven by anger and hatred, a political activist has said.

Kelvin Chipili said opposition politician­s should not be driven by hatred and other negative attributes, but should be driven by passion to serve the citizens.

Mr Chipili was speaking when he addressed resident of Twikatane area in Mulenga Township in Kitwe

He said it was sad that some opposition politician­s were emotionall­y charged and had lost focus.

Instead of articulati­ng issues, he said, opposition leaders were preoccupie­d with getting into power and were busy speaking ill of the Patriotic Front (PF) and President Edgar Lungu.

"They cannot tell you how they will address load shedding and mealie meal prices because both are effects of poor rains or partial drought, but instead they would rather gain political mileage out of such misfortune­s.

"They have nothing to tell the people apart from instilling fear in people. They are driven by hatred, bitterness, frustratio­n and anger. With such kind of spirit, you cannot successful," Mr Chipili said

He also lamented that some Members of Parliament (MPs) had failed to deliver their campaign promises and had since abandoned their constituen­cies

Mr Chipili said it was such kind of MPs that were denting the image president

He however indicated that Joe Malanji MP for Kwacha and his Wusakile counterpar­t Pavyuma Kalobo had done their best in their constituen­cies
