I’m not on the run - Kungo

- By BENNIE MUNDANDO

NORTH-WESTERN Province PF provincial chairperson Jackson Kungo has accused the opposition of being behind social media speculation that he has ed his house a ter residents descended on him after reports suggesting that he was among the people involved in gassing. Yesterday, a report emerged through social media that Mr. Kungo was on the run after residents raided his house on suspicion that he was one of the masterminds of gassing and that his house was later surrounded by soldiers. The report also suggested that some arrested suspects hadsaid that he was part of the masterminds of gassing and was on the run, leaving his family behind. But Mr. Kungo dispelled the rumour, as ridiculous, malicious, and preposterous and that it could only come from the opposition who were feeling the heat on what he was doing in the province in mobilisng the PF. He said the opposition knew that the PF in North-Western was getting stronger which had put them in panic mode, got them spreading fake news and cheap propaganda. He said the story which appeared on the maliciousonline page was false in its entirety and should be treated with contempt it deserves by all well-meaning Zambians. “I am always at the office working or in the field mobilising the party in the province and at night I am home with my dear family. “I don’t even want to discuss this further because doing so is dignifying the cheap propaganda by this malicious online platform,” Mr Kungo said. He said no amount of smear campaign from the opposition will destruct him from doing his job and delivering for his party and the President to the best of his abilities stating that the PF in North Western Province will get even bigger than it already has.
