UPND carpeted for disrespecting Wina

- By SILUMESI MALUMO

IT is unfortunate that the United Party for National Development (UPND) has continued to disrespect Vice President Inonge Wina and this should not be tolerated, Change Life

Zambia (CLZ) has said.

CLZ board chairperson John Kasongo said the statement by Choma Central Member of Parliament Cornelius Mweetwa that Ms Wina she was a shameless woman was unacceptable.

He said in an interview yesterday, it was disheartening that the UPND members could resort to being disrespectful to women.

Mr Mweetwa was quoted in the Mast Newspapers saying that Ms Wina was a shameless woman in the country.

“The disrespectful behaviour of both UPND leaders and members goes to confirm that it had no respect to our mothers in the nation.

Mr Mweetwa's tone towards the Vice President Inonge Wina and the first Lady clearly shows that it is UPND policy to have no respect for female leaders hence the wanton use of derogatory language.

“We call upon all women to condemn these evil acts against our highly respected mothers in the land. We call for all women in Zambia to rise up against the UPND leadership. Possibly resign from this party, a lesson which shall make them know the power of our mothers in Zambia,” Mr Kasongo said.

“We shall not be quiet when the Christian nation values were being diluted by evil forces by the enemies of the nation.

“Be reminded that this country is for Jesus Christ who had total respect to his mother and father. We are a Christian nation and proud of Bible rich principles and values, Insults shall never be tolerated at all. We Love and respect our mothers,” he said.

We call upon all women to condemn these evil acts against our highly respected mothers in the land. We call for all women in Zambia to rise up against the UPND leadership. Possibly resign from this party, a lesson which shall make them know the power of our mothers in Zambia.
