Forest 27: Harrington, Chimambo to sue AG

- By SILUMESI MALUMO

WE are suing the Attorney General for failure by the Deputy Chief Justice to institute a tribunal to address the forest 27 illegality, former Minister of Tourism William

Harrington has said. Mr Harrington said he and a senior citizen Mr Robert Chimambo wanted to ensure that justice prevailed on the matter. He said in an interview yesterday, the two would pursue the matter to the letter because the refusal by the Deputy Chief Justice to institute a tribunal was denying citizens justice. This matter is still alive we shall not relent until a tribunal is instituted so that the illegality in forest 27 is addressed, Mr Harrington said. “I want to inform all concerned citizens that the matter would be pursued without fail because we want justice to prevail. “I want to inform the public that we are suing the Attorney General as William Harrington as first applicant and Robert Chimambo as second applicant. “We shall ensure this matter is pursued vigorously, we want justice to prevail because what is being done in forest 27 is illegal,” Mr Harrington said. He said currently he and Mr Chimambo had engaged lawyers to re-submit the notice of application for the judicial review on the matter. Mr Harrington said earlier the two submitted the notice of application for judicial review but now the matter had been re-allocated to another Judge and were told to re-submit the application. He said the lawyers would finalise the process this week and the notice of application would be submitted to the High Court and serve it to the Attorney General who was the respondent.
