Speaking to the Daily ation yesterday, Lusaka Province P secretary ennedy amba said Mr. angwa is not above the law and must respect the court s udgements and whether he likes it or not, President will stand in and crush his opponents.
“We feel it is important for us to voice out on the remarks made by the learned lawyer ohn Sangwa State Counsel at a public forum on riday that President Lungu is not eligible to contest elections in as the constitution clearly bars him from doing so.
“ e want to appeal to Mr. angwa, the learned counsel to avoid emotions and biased opinions about President Lungu s eligibility to stand in , and to just respect the rule of law and the udgement passed by the onstitutional ourt,” Mr. amba said.
e said it was misleading for Mr. Sangwa to continue telling the nation that President Lungu was not eligible to contest next year s elections when there was a udgement at the Constitutional Court from President Lungu to contest the general elections.
“ ambians know very well that in ecember , he Constitutional Court passed udgement and it was very clear that the Presidential tenure of President Lungu was from th anuary to th eptember and did not constitute a full term of office. “ he constitutional ourt also relied on articles sub-article one and article sub-article six of the constitution and dismissed arguments by interested parties that President Lungu is not eligible for elections as President,” e said.
