Copperbelt PF chairperson, Nathan Chanda said the party in the province was in total agreement with the report of the Parliamentary Select Committee which was constituted to receive submissions on Bill 10 drafted by delegates at the National

Mr Chanda said contrary to lies being peddled by some sections of society over the Christian provision, Zambia would remain a Christian Nation as prescribed in the
reamb e of the onstitution
“There will be no reintroduction of deputy ministers, no coalition Government, pensioners will not be removed from the payroll before receiving
their benefits n addition,
the oversight functions of Parliament over the Executive in terms of debt contraction, creation and merging of provinces by the President, signing of and withdrawal
from nternationa greements
and Treaties, will only be done after parliamentary approval,”

He said the mixed member electoral system would empower women, youth, disabled and marginalized groups who could not compete on the same footing with the rest, to have their

He said the Minister of Justice, on behalf of Cabinet,

“Moreover, Cabinet has agreed to move a motion to make amendments to Bill 10 based on the proposals being
made to ar iament
“We therefore appeal to all Members of Parliament (MPs) from PF, UPND, MMD, NDC, FDD, and the independent, to fully support the proposals made by Cabinet in line with the Select Committee recommendations as the Constitution Amendment Bill

He said this was because the Constitution, being the supreme law of the land, was bigger than any political party and that the interests
of Zambia shou d come first
before any other partisan
