Isoka in water blues
ISOKA District is experiencing erratic water supply due to breakdown of power transformer at one of the plants, Chambeshi Water and Sanitation Company District Manager Bernard Kafula has said. Mr Kafula has since advised residents to ration water. He explained that the a transfer at the Kasoka plant broke down on Thursday last week, resulting in rationing of water supply.
“I can confirm that we as district experiencing erratic water supply due to the breakdown of the transformer at the Kasoka plant,” Mr Kafula said.
He said the Kasoka plant supplies water to Location, Boma, Post extension, Kawenga and Katonga residential areas.
Mr Kafula said the remaining main plant supplies water to Mwembe, Mwenya and parts of Boma area.
The District Manager said the utility company in collaboration with Zesco would ensure that water supply was restored.
“We have engaged Zesco to ensure that the fault transformer is replaced so that we can restore normal supply of water in the district,” he said.
Mr Kafula said his team was working tirelessly to ensure that was water supply was restored in the wake of coronavirus outbreak.
He however said the utility firm will embark on rationing water supply before normal supply is restored.
“We are aware of the directive to have uninterrupted water supply in the wake of coronavirus and we are keen to ensuring water supply is restored,” Mr Kafula said.
