- By MUYANI SHINJABALE

THE health compliance levels regarding coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Ndola is high.

A survey conducted by the Daily Nation in Ndola found that a good number of shops and other outlets had hand sanitizers and wash-basins at the entrances.

Various customers entering and leaving shops were also complying with the health measure as they were washing and sanitizing their hands.

At Mulungushi bus station in the Central Business District (CBD) bus crews on inter-mine routes were insisting that passengers use sanitizers before boarding buses.

However, most bus crews on local routes were not adhering to the health measures of sanitising their passengers.

In an interview with the Daily Nation, Kelvin Sampa, a hardware store owner in the CBD, said the hand sanitizers were the least he could do to promote the hygiene and safety of his clients.

Mr Sampa advised business owners who were not complying with the heath measures not to take the exercise lightly.

He encouraged everyone regardless of what they did for a living to join hands in the fight against poor hygiene.

Ndola Mayor, Amon Chisenga, said in a separate interview that the council had been going round to check the levels of compliance and urged individuals, business owners and transporters to adhere to preventive measures.

Mr Chisenga said the synopsis was that the levels of compliance in the city were very high.

"So far I am very impressed with the levels of compliance and I wish that people will still exhibit high levels of hygiene
