- By ROGERS KALERO

THE Zambia-Chinese Association (ZCA) Copperbelt Chapter has donated 200 bags of mealie meal towards the street children who have been withdrawn from the streets so that they can be incorporated into society.

The Kitwe District Social Welfare has so far withdrawn 27 children from the streets to protect them from the risks getting infected with Covid-19

ZCA Copperbelt Chapter president, Wang Xin, said they had decided to donate mealie meal to support the fight against Covid-19, especially among the vulnerable like the street children.

Mr Wang said ZCA would support the fight against COVID 19 in various ways because it was a serious threat to human life which needed to be fought with concerted efforts.

“Anything which threatens human life must be fought with vigour by all human beings regardless of colour, race, religion, tribe and political affiliations because if left to thrive, it will wipe out every human being on earth,” Mr Wang said.

And Kitwe District Commissioner, Chileshe Bweupe reiterated his call for people to wear face masks properly and adhere to the Ministry of Health guidelines

Mr Bweupe said people should not get difficult when advised to wear masks, but humbly cooperate and follow the ministry of health guidelines He said he was disappointed that some people wanted to be pushed to wear masks, while others were not wearing the masks properly with others being arrogant for nothing.

“As I thank the ZCA Copperbelt for this donation, I would like to urge members of the community not be difficult for nothing. Let us follow the guidelines of the ministry of health. Am very disappointed that some people who are wearing masks are not wearing them properly,” he said.

Mr Wang “Anything which threatens human life must be fought with vigour by all human beings regardless of colour, race, religion, tribe and political affiliations because if left to thrive, it will wipe out every human being on earth,”
