A PATRIOTIC Front (PF) member in Livingstone has donated Covid-19 preventive materials worth K80,000 to the district and constituency leadership to be distributed to the 17 wards in the area.

Ms Marimba Mutinta Mwanamwalye made the donation towards the fight against coronavirus yesterday, emphasising that the fight against the pandemic was not for the government alone.

She said that as a Livingstone resident, it was her responsibility to ensure that citizens were empowered with hygienic soap, hand sanitizers, face masks and other materials related to the fight against Covid-19.

“I have realised that Livingstone is a town that borders with Zimbabwe, Botswana and also Namibia. So, we have these truckers that use our border to transport goods

“I will also go round the district to check on the situation and also lobby other well-wishers to come on board and fight this disease,” Ms Mwanamwalye said.

She said that the

Government had been working very hard in fighting the pandemic ad thus citizens should join in.

“I believe this small gesture will go a long way in the fight against the coronavirus,” she said.

Earlier, PF District chairman, John Mukosho, castigated opposition political leaders who were politicising the fight against COVID-19.

He said the PF Government had performed exceptionally well and the results would help the party retain power in 2021.
