Fighting at the expense of service

-

Dear Editor,

AS one of President Edgar Lungu’s disciples, following the developments that have taken place this week, I suspect some of his appointees are on a mission to embarrass him.

All the leaders who are serving in public or state offices, whether they were appointed or elected though the PF must always know that they serve the President. Even us PF cadres, we serve the President.

Therefore, senior government officials must stop embarrassing the appointing authority and washing dirty linen in public should never be an option.

If a particular Presidential appointee saw anything wrong against one elected PF official, the prudent thing was to find proper ways of engaging him.

The irresponsibility of the government officials is injurious to people who believe in the cause of the PF. Whatever grievance that particular Presidential appointee, had, he should have regarded it as an internal issue.

We are made to believe that the named individual wanted to outshine the elected official. We are heartbroken that President Edgar Lungu has been embarrassed by the people he appointed.

We are also made to believe that this official does not care about decampanging the PF amd he had nothing to lose if there was discontent against the President and the government. However, we will not support him for his discourteous actions towards other colleagues.

We also commend the named elected official for the public apology. We are there and will independently make our judgement. Pride is about who is right and humility is about what is right.

The elected official should not feel lonely, the people and we the cadres are behind him and the President.

MCM, Lusaka.
