Wildcat PFL holds coaching clinics playing

-

Speaking after day two of the coaching clinic which has attracted sixteen head coaches from PFL clubs, Mehta who is Wildcat PFL chairman, said coaches played a key role in the growth of futsal as they impart their knowledge to players they tutor.

Mehta said the coaching clinics to be conducted every weekend before the 2020/2021 Futsal season began would contribute massively to the development of futsal in Zambia.

“Our aim is to continue our role to develop the game in Zambia. We have a lot of young boys with a bright future but that bright future can only be realized if the players are managed by coaches with experience and the proper knowledge on how to improve and nature young talents,” Mehta said. Mehta reaffirmed PFL’s commitment to stop the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic by following Ministry of Health guidelines during the coaching clinics being held at Automotive Futsal Arena.

Meanwhile, Italian tutor Andrea Christoforetti who is in charge of the coaching clinics as the trainer of coaches said the coaching clinics would improve the levels of competition when the new futsal league returns. “What we intend to do is to increase the overall level of futsal in Zambia and that has to go through coaches so we are starting from some basics on how coaches can organise their teams.

“I’m giving the coaches all the tools to improve the quality of the game and these coaching clinics will go throughout the season and will cover topics such as man making, how coaches can position their players,” Christoforetti said.

“The major aim is that each coach will find a way of organising their teams from defence to the striking part. This will definitely improve the level of competition in the league,” he said.
