B Flow, Bowman reconcile

- By CHARLES MUSONDA

MUSICIAN Bryan Bwembya, popularly known as B-Flow, and Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo have reconciled over the differences they had last week.

Mr Bwembya confirmed the reconciliation in a statement issued yesterday.

He said yesterday State House invited him for a meeting with Presidential Press Aide Isaac Chipampe and Political Advisor Chris Zumani Zimba for them to get a clear picture of the issues that youths like himself were raising. Mr Bwembya said he made his submissions without fear or favour and they were well noted.

He said after concluding the meeting Mr. Zimba invited Mr. Lusambo, who was also at State House for another meeting, for him (Bwembya) to express his concerns to the minister over his remarks which the musician said injured him.

Mr Bwembya said it was a cordial meeting and of mutual respect, a platform at which he was assured of government’s respect for youths’ freedom of expression.

“This is as it should be and we remain resolute to continue to monitor this positive window of commitment to the development process. I’m greatly humbled and inspired by the support and counsel that I have received and continue to receive from my fellow youths during the recent and ongoing discussions on important national matters.

“I’m also grateful to the many senior citizens that have offered guidance and support towards the critical issues that we have been raising as youths. Our ongoing discussions on important national matters have created an atmosphere of openness and wider youth engagement in national development issues.

“If properly managed, this atmosphere can stir our country towards national prosperity,” Mr Bwembya said.

He said this showed the positive side of social media, adding that in that regard, youths must continue enjoying and exercising their freedom of expression.
