850 defect to join PF in Kabompo

-

ABOUT 850 people from the 15 Wards in Kabompo constituency have defected from United Party for National Development (UPND), Forum for Democratic Development (FDD) and Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) to join the ruling Patriotic front in Kabompo district in Northwestern province.

PF Kabompo District Chairman Briston Nyamachaka presented the 850 defectors to party Deputy Secretary General Mumbi Phiri in Kabompo district at the PF district secretariat office.

He said people in Kabompo have decided to defect following the peace, unity and good leadership coupled with various developmental projects going on countrywide under the leadership of President Edgar Lungu.

Among the defectors was the former UPND National Secretary Adviser Benjamin Chipango who was also a staunch and strong UPND supporter in Kabompo district with Litiya ward youth chairlady Edith Chilambo.

Mr Chipango said the people of Kabompo cannot allow their Member of Parliament, Honorable Ambros Lufuma, to continue misleading and misrepresenting people’s view who voted him into power by walking out in parliament on matters that can bring development in the constituency.

He said the unbecoming behavior of not consulting his electorates by the area member of parliament has brought divisions in the district, the more reason for people defecting to join the ruling PF

Mr. Chipango further said he wants peace to prevail in the country adding that he will support President Edgar Lungu and the PF party to foster development in the district and the country as a whole.

And receiving the defectors, PF National Deputy Secretary Mumbi Phiri said there is no first and last in PF adding that some of the defectors need to be embraced so as to grow the party.
