Economic Think Tank celebrates Mukwandi Chibesakunda, Zanaco CEO Designate

ZAMBIA’S celebrated think tank the Economics Association Zambia - EAZ wishes to congratulate Ms. Mukwandi Chibesakunda on her appointment as Chief Executive Officer for Lusaka Securities Exchange - LuSE listed Zambia National Commercial Bank Plc. Ms. Chibesakunda takes over from Henk Mulder effective 01 October 2020.

Ms. Chibesakunda is a fully paid up member of the Economics Association of Zambia and has been very instrumental and supportive of the association’s initiatives. The Association takes this opportunity to congratulate the newly appointed Zambia National Commercial Bank - CEO and to thank her for the support in the think-tanks endeavours.

Ms. Chibesakunda was the first Chief Executive Officer to meet the EAZ Board during the road shows leading to the National Economic Summit - NES 2019 and offered financial assistance both pre and post the associations debut summit.

Bank - Natsave then, Ms. Chibesakunda was still the first CEO to pledge support towards the 2020 National Economic Summit to focus on Sustainable Development Goals - SDGs for 2030 but for COVID19 disease pandemic that distorted the targeted host date. The EAZ has nonetheless resumed preparations for the second NES with a date to be announced in due course.

The Association is excited about the appointment because one of its fully paid up members, a Zambia bred Economist by profession has morphed to an institution that was one of the platinum sponsors of the NES 2019 by then under the leadership of Mr. Henk Mulder (Outgoing CEO) who alongside Ms. Charity Lumpa the Board Chairman were fully present at the summit that hosted both Zambia and Kenya’s Republican Presidents His Excellencies Edgar Lungu and Uhuru Kenyatta alongside the former President of Tanzania Dr. Jakaya Kikwete in Livingstone.

Under the leadership of Ms. Chibesakunda, the summit take away project book was funded by National Savings and Credit Bank.

The Board and Management of the Economics Association of Zambia looks forward to working with Ms. Chibesakunda as Zanaco Chief Executive Officer and as an Executive Member of the Association. The Association further thanks Mr. Henk Mulder and Ms. Charity Lumpa for the support rendered during NES19 summit.
