However, Chileshe who was suspended as a FAZ committee member in January 2020 by FAZ president Andrew Kamanga before the National Sports Council of Zambia NSCZ lifted’ the suspension the same month said a normalisation committee from FIFA will help end the squabbles at FAZ.

In an interview, Chileshe said for now individuals who have taken FAZ to court can only trust the Zambian courts to resolve the wrangles because efforts to engage the association have not been fruitful.

Chileshe said the onus is on FAZ to find a way to resolve the wrangles as directed by FIFA who have given Zambia 10 days to end the squabbles or risk being sanctioned.

“The letter from FIFA is not for the people who have taken FAZ to court, it’s up to FAZ. FIFA has stated that FAZ should resolve all the issues because as one of those who is aggrieved, we have tried to reason with FAZ and there has been no result so the last option is to go to court,” Chileshe said.

He said both FAZ and FIFA are not above the Zambian law which guides individuals in the country and asked FAZ to do the right thing.

Chileshe wondered why FIFA had failed to act on the numerous concerns raised by the aggrieved individuals who have taken FAZ to court when they are quick to issue warnings when FAZ reports.

“For people to go to court, they are following the law of the land and FIFA is not above the law of the Land. What people want is justice.

“FIFA have got a full box of letters from Zambia where a lot of people have complained but FIFA has not acted on the complaints, to me the highest corrupt institution is FIFA, some of the letters they have been writing don’t even make sense,” he said.

“I want to meet FIFA officials personally because FIFA doesn’t have all the information and when people are complaining, you call all of them to find out what is wrong that is what we expect from FIFA.

“As one of the aggrieved, I would like FIFA to send a normalization committee for now that is when the problems at FAZ can be resolved,” Chileshe said.
