UNZA in prestigious network
THE University of Zambia (UNZA) says the Graduate School of Business (GSB), a prestigious business studies school on the African continent, is now a bona fide member of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
UNZA acting head of communication and marketing, Brenda Bukowa, yesterday said AACSB is an American professional organization founded in 1916 to provide accreditation to schools of business across the globe.
Dr. Bukowa said the membership to AACSB meant that GSB at UNZA was now a member of a global network of the world's largest business education alliance, connecting educators, learners, and business to create the next generation of great leaders.
She said through this membership, UNZA would benefit by having access to a growing, global community of a network of business schools worldwide.
“The University will reach out to institutions across the globe with similar goals and challenges, strategise with an international group of individuals who have similar roles at business schools, share experiences with other experts, or lead discussions on emerging management education issues,” Dr. Bukowa said.
Meanwhile, UNZA Vice Chancellor, Luke Evuta Mumba, says the membership attained by the GSB affirms UNZA’s strength in research, teaching and learning around business education.
Prof Mumba said UNZA appreciated synergies that came with collaborations among professional and academic institutions as they contribute to academic and scientific progress and excellence.
He said the membership of GSB to AACSB would lead to harnessing the benefits associated with each institution’s global reach and leverage on the competitive advantage and result in use of strategies that lead to enhancing teaching, research and community engagement around business education.
He paid glowing tribute to all staff at UNZA that work tirelessly to ensure the institution competes favourably internationally as regards the provision of higher education in Africa and across the globe.
