Siwale dares FAZ to take him to Police

- By MUKWIMA CHILALA

FORMER Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) executive committee member Blackwell Siwale has dared the association to report him to the Zambia Police over the K150, 000 he is alleged to have misapplied.

And Siwale wonders why it had taken four years without reporting him to the Police nor taking him to court as the allegation was criminal in nature that needed not to just end at expulsion.

Siwale on Wednesday said he and others were keen to dialogue with FAZ so as to end the perceived wrangles that had rocked local football.

FAZ replied saying that in as much as they welcomed dialogue, FAZ was perturbed that Siwale was seeking to be pardoned by it with the matter of the unaccounted funds still unresolved.

But Siwale said that he found the statement from FAZ very unfortunate as at a time when level headedness and sober minds where needed to reflect on how to manage the situation and deadline given by FIFA, the association was resorting to unearthing issues that happened four years ago.

“When a crime is allegedly committed as that of stealing money, do you just end at banning and expelling an individual? Why haven’t they taken me to court, four years down the line,” Siwale said.

“I have been pleading and on record that anyone who has information that I stole money to take me to court. But four years down the line I have not appeared anywhere for questioning from any police station so why is the issue coming up now?”

Siwale was, with FAZ vice president Richard Kazala in 2017 expelled from the executive for failure to account for K150, 000, allegations they deny.

FIFA recently gave FAZ a 10-day ultimatum ending today to sort out the wrangles or face sanctions.
