Tenant put on defence for assaulting landlady
THE Lusaka Magistrate court has found a case to answer in a matter in which a tenant is facing the charge of assaulting his landlady for demanding monthly rental arrears from him.
Charles Mpololo is charged with one count of assault contrary to the laws of Zambia.
Mpololo is alleged to have on March 15, 2020, assaulted Ms Eunice Daka, his landlady after she demanded rental arrears from him.
The matter has been adjourned to July 14, 2020 for commencement of trial while Mpololo has been remanded in custody.
Meanwhile, the case in which NDC leader Chishimba Kambwili is
facing three counts of forgery, uttering and giving false information to a public officer in respect to Mwamona Engineering, has been adjourned to Monday, July, 13, 2020 for continued defence.
When the matter came for continued defence before Magistrate David Simusamba, yesterday, Kambwili was informed that the matter has been moved to Monday.
In the matter, Kambwili is alleged to have on October 29, 2013, with intent to defraud or deceive, forged a PACRA “no change return form” purporting to show that it was genuinely signed by his son Mwamba when in fact not.
It is also alleged that on the same date, Kambwili knowingly and fraudulently uttered the same document to an officer at PACRA.
Earlier, Kambwili gave unsworn evidence which meant that the prosecutors could not cross examine him. Carol, Kambwli’s wife was also at pains to explain to the court how her son became a director in the firm when he was only eight years old at the time of its incorporation in 2001.
