Youths in Kabompo commended

THE ruling Patriotic Front (PF) party in Kabompo District in Northweste­rn province has commended Youths for being peaceful during nomination­s for the three forth-coming local government by- elections slated for 30th July,2020.

Speaking in an interview with ZANIS in Kabompo yesterday, Provincial Youth Chairman Aminon Hara said the peaceful conduct of youths in Kabompo District is a clear testimony that the party is in support of the co- existence and participat­ion of all political parties including youths in the electoral process.

“The defections and people joining the PF is evident of our developmen­tal programmes countrywid­e and good leadership,” Mr Hara said. He further implored all political parties especially youths to remain peaceful even during campaigns

And speaking after filling in his nomination PF Kabompo Central Ward candidate Dennis Njapau expressed confidence of scooping the Seat. Mr Njapau said he has vast experience in leadership and management after retiring as Head Teacher for Loloma Day Secondary School in Manyinga District adding that he has held other senior positions in the Ministry of Education and the party. The Opposition United Party for National Developmen­t UPND is contesting in the July month end by-elections.

There are three local government by- elections in Kabompo District namely Chikenge, Kabompo Central and Litoya wards.

The by-elections are due following the resignatio­n of Chikenge Ward councilor Lackson Fulayi, Litoya ward counterpar­t Brian Simushi and Kabompo Central Ward Councillor, Victor Muhanga, respective­ly.
