STICK WITH LUNGU, ZDDM TELLS PF
THE Patriotic Front should not to be distracted by the baseless argument that President Edgar Lungu does not qualify to contest the 2021 presidential elections because he is their best winning candidate, ZDDP Edwin Sakala has said.
Mr Sakala said the Constitutional Court already ruled that he qualifies to contest, therefore PF should not be distracted.
He said President Lungu has only been in State house for five years and that it's bad politics for anybody to suggest that he has served for two terms of office because the one year he came in to finish President Sata's term cannot be treated as a full term.
"It must be clear to many Zambians that the people claiming that he does not qualify to contest the next general election do not mean well and are only politicking because they know that President Dr Lungu is the best winning candidate whose leadership style has won more respect and support across the country that he is assured of winning more votes in 2021," Mr Sakala said.
He said ZDDM will soon announce its own presidential candidate in view of the withdraw from the race of its preferred candidate for 2021, former vice President Enoch Kavindele. "We do not mind being unfairly called PF stooges or indeed the fact that this party slammed its doors on our faces soon after they won elections but the fact is that President Dr Edgar Chagwa Lungu is meanwhile the best candidate for the country to remain stable and on the path towards unity in diversity and development," Mr Sakala said. He said ZDDM supports President Lungu because it has known him for more than 25 years.
