Mundubile canes ‘anarchists’ in UPND
THE United Party for National Development (UPND) should demonstrate and display the character of a party ready to rule the country and not advocating for anarchy, Government Chief Whip Brian Mundubile has said. Mr Mundubile said that there would be chaos in the country in the unlikely event that the opposition was given chance to rule the country. "There would be bad governance in the country should the UPND be given even one hour to rule this country because the party is relying on calamity such as deaths, COVID 19, and adverse climate change, to make political capital," he said. Mr Mundubile, who is also Mporokoso Central Member of Parliament, said irresponsible conduct in the opposition party leadership had led to total breakdown of control and management. He charged that leaders in UPND lacked the requisite qualities and wondered how such leaders would manage a country like Zambia. Mr Mundubile advised Zambians to closely scrutinise such leadership as the country goes to the polls next year. He said that the Monze experience where President Edgar Lungu was booed was one of the unfortunate events that was supposed tobe condemned by the opposition party leaders. "We regret to learn that the party president himself sided with the cadres instead of distancing his party and condemning the acts and offering an apology. “Political leadership is not about money or speaking the loudest while celebrating misfortune hoping that people would rise against the Government. All this is a clear show of failure and lack of a vision to rule the country," he added. Mr Mundubile said that President Lungu had always emphasised that there was need for a favourable political environment but regretted that it was not the case with the opposition party.
