GBM predicts more UPND defections.
MORE members of the United Party for National Development (UPND) are expected to defect to the ruling party citing lack of leadership in the party, Patriotic Front (PF) national vice chairperson for mobilisation Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba has said.
And Mr Mwamba said the PF would work tirelessly to recruit more members in readiness for the 2021 general elections.
The mobilisation deputy chief said a number of UPND members in Northern Province were fed up with the leadership of their party.
He said in an interview yesterday, the said members had seen that the PF was doing all it can to improve the welfare of Zambians and the massive development across the country which they wanted to be part of.
Mr Mwamba said the UPND must therefore brace for more defections because it had proved not to be worth supporting.
He said the national mobilisation team would ensure that the UPND did not have presence in the province.
“We have been going round the province telling people what the ruling party has done and what we intend to do in order to improve the welfare of the people and our message has been received by many especially those in the UPND.
These people are willing to work with us now because they have seen themselves what the ruling party is doing for this country and they want to be party of these good things which are being done,” he said.
Mr Mwamba also said their aim was to ensure that they recruited more members as the country goes to the general
elections.
