CORRUPTION RIFE IN OPPOSITION - TUTWA

- By SANFROSSA MANYINDA

CORRUPTION

is deep rooted among the opposition who are everyday accusing Government of such acts without providing proper evidence, Deputy Chief Whip Tutwa Ngulube has said.

Mr Ngulube, who is also PF Kabwe Central Member of Parliament, has since challenged all those that were accusing Government officials of being corrupt, to report to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) with concrete evidence.

He told the Daily Nation that it was such baseless accusations that were painting a bad picture of the country to the outside world.

"Such allegations are baseless and meant as political campaigns to undermine the popularity of the party in government.

“If these people who report had evidence, they would have been in the forefront making sure that corruption is stopped and not what we are seeing now," he said.

Mr Ngulube further charged that those that were accusing others of being corrupt everyday were the ones that were corrupt.

He charged that corruption was deep-rooted among opposition party leaders and that soon the law would catch up with them.

Mr Ngulube observed that the fight against corruption was a serious one that did not need to be politicized if it was to be won.

He explained that the ACC was a Government agency that was established to fight corruption and advised all those with allegations to report with concrete evidence.

"We need people to start reporting so that records are kept and members of the public get to know who is corrupt.

“This will also help ACC to investigate and follow up such matters properly not just those without facts that are always in some people's statements," Mr Ngulube said.
