Zambia recorded no Covid-19 death

...at it records 225 new Covid-19 cases

Zambia has in the last 24 hours has not recorded any COVID-19 deaths as the country records 225 new COVID-19 cases out of 1, 400 tests conducted bringing the cumulative number of cases in the country to 11, 601.

Lusaka province is the highest with 156 cases recorded, 55 from Lusaka district, and 1 in Chongwe followed by Southern province with 38 cases.

Muchinga province has 28 with Chinsali district having the highest number of cases at 20 while Eastern had 2 and 1 on the Copperbelt.

And 147 patients have been discharged from the various isolation facilities in the country bringing the cumulative number of recoveries 10 840 in the country.

Ministry of health Permanent Secretary for administra­tion, Akakulubel­wa Mulalelo said yesterday during the daily COVID-19 update that 48 Patients were admitted to Levy Mwanawasa COVID-19 Isolation facility in Lusaka.

Ms. Mulalelo said of the 48 patients, 26 were on oxygen therapy, 8 under intensive care, and one on a ventilator.

She said 32 patients were admitted to isolation facilities outside Lusaka of whom 10 were on oxygen therapy.

Ms. Mulalelo said the cumulative of deaths linked to COVID-19 remained at 282 with 91 deaths being COVID-19 cases while 191 COVID-19 associated deaths.

To date, the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in Zambia stands at 11 601 including 282 deaths, 10 840 recoveries, 225 new cases 225 in the last 24 hours.

In Africa, the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases stands at 1 216 558 with 28 656 deaths and 9 45 475 recoveries.
