SA’s Tito Mboweni is a dweeb

-

Dear Editor,

I FULLY support the action taken by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa against his arrogant Finance Minister Tito Mboweni.

Mboweni’s bickering against the Zambian government could only have come from a village economist.

Had Mboweni been to a proper school he would have known that Zambia is a sovereign state with its own kind of law’s very different from South Africa’s.

He should also have known that his empty rantings were going to cause serious diplomatic strains between Lusaka and Pretoria.

It is ironic that a man of standing in his country’s government could sink that low and completes lose direction for whatever his hideous reasons.

Lest he has forgotten, I will remind him that Zambia did a lot to help SA achieve its independence from the oppressive Boer regime.

Maybe he was still I his nappies when great South African freedom fighters like Africa’s hero Nelson Mandela, Oliver Tambo, Thabo Mbeki, Walter Sisulu to mention but a few made Zambia their home.

President Edgar Lungu is leading an independent state and he will continue to take necessary action according to our laws without any hindrance from disgruntled elements, especially if they are foreigners. It is also possible that Mboweni is being used by some Zambian political leaders who have made South Africa their base to launch attacks against a duly elected Zambian government.

My advice to my fellow Zambians is that they should ignore misguided Mboweni as he does not mean a thing to Zambia. It is however heartening that President Ramaphosa has already issued an official statement condemning Mboweni. MWANZA J., Lusaka.
