“Well, his condition is stable and he is responding well to treatment. There is much improvement compared to the time he was brought in,” Dr Mbinga said.
Dr Mbinga said Mr Banda was rushed to the hospital after he suffered from seizures at Chipata’s Namuseche Correctional Facility.
Mr Banda had been in custody since his arrest last week on Thursday for unlawful procession and assembly.
But his father Mr William Banda on Thursday told the Daily Nation that his son was around 18:30 hours rushed to Chipata General Hospital after he experienced sharp chest pains. On Wednesday, Commissioner of Police, Lackson Sakala told the Daily Nation that Mr Banda was transferred to Namuseche Correctional facility awaiting court appearance.
Mr Sakala said Mr Banda was expected to be taken to Court by the National Prosecution Authority (NPA) this past week.
Patriotic Front (PF)’a George Chisanga said he would ensure that all the developmental projects started by the PF in the constituency were completed once voted into office.
New Hope MMD candidate, Christopher Kabwe, said he was aware of many challenges people of Lukashya were facing which he would work on once voted for.
UPND’s Davies Mulenga said he would work on feeder roads, build more schools, clinics and hospitals. Mr Mulenga observed that people walk long distances to access social services in Lukashya and that the matter needed urgent redress.
Meanwhile, Leadership Movement’s Brown Sinyangwe said he would ensure that residents of Lukashya were provided with land title deeds so that they could use them as collateral to enable them access loans from the banks.
And United Prosperous Peaceful Zambia’s Samuel Kabungo pledged to restock forest with wild animals so that Lukashya could become the best tourism destination for tourists.
Lukashya seat fell vacant on July 18, this year following the death of Independent MP, Mwenya Munkonge.
