PF L/stone vice-secretary banned

- By ANDREW MUKOMA

THE Patriotic Front (PF) in Livingstone has suspended its vice district secretary, Gibson Limbalambala, for alleged gross misconduct.

Mr Limbalambala, one of the instrumental youth wing members, has been suspended for expressing his grievances through a PF whatsapp group. PF Livingstone chairperson, John Mukosho, confirmed the development to the Daily Nation.

He said Mr Limbalambala had been suspended from the party activities for using whatsapp platform to air his grievances.

Mr Mukosho said that PF was a party with regulations which must be followed. “PF as a party, we are governed and guided by the constitution and a person who is aggrieved must follow the right channels of communication,” Mr Mukosho said.

Mr Mukosho said indiscipline would not be condoned in the party as it was time to prepare for next year’s elections.

“We are not going to spare anyone who engages in indiscipline, I might look small but the party constitution gives me authority,” he said. When contacted, Mr Limbalambala confirmed having received the suspension letter.

According to a letter of suspension dated 26 August 2020, signed by district vice secretary Bernard Sinyangwe and district vice chairperson Kabuki Kalaluka, the suspension was indefinitely.

However, Mr Limbalambala’ suspension has been received with mixed feelings among party members.

Some members told the Daily Nation that Mr Limbalambala had not committed any offence but was simply advised the leadership to be on the ground.

“In fact, what should happen is the dissolution of both the District and Constituency leadership for failing to manage the party and poor leadership,” said a member who declined to be named.
