PF extends olive branch

...vows to bring back members

- By SILUMESI MALUMO

AS Patriotic Front (PF) leadership we have decided to reconcile with all members who left as they are important in growing the party, PF National Mobilisation Chairperson, Richard Musukwa has said.

He said that the mandate especially of the mobilisation leadership was to bring back all old PF members.

Mr Musukwa, who is also Minister of Mines and Minerals Development, said some old members left because of frustration, therefore, the party leadership would reason with them so that they could get back to the party they had struggled for.

Speaking during a PF interactive forum yesterday, he said the leadership would not relax but engage all the old members because they would play a critical role in the party as the country goes towards elections.

“We know that some people left because of fighting for a position but there can be only one leader at a time. So we are calling upon all our members old or new to come back to the party they founded and supported,” Mr Musukwa said.

And Mr Musukwa said the party had begun mobilisation to ensure a landslide victory for President Edgar Lungu and PF in the 2021 general elections.

To that effect, he called upon all party members across the country including structures and mobilisation teams to work in tandem in order to secure the victory that was needed for the party.

The National Mobilisation chief said it was important that the party won with a landslide victory in order to avoid Presidential petition like the one which was lodged after the 2016 election results.

“The philosophy of the PF is to ensure that we listen to the grassroots, we listen to our people across the country.

So as PF we also think that the party is bigger than everyone. “So it is good that all structures unite and ensure that we begin to mobilise our numbers from wards, sections, branches, constituencies, districts, provinces and indeed nationally,” Mr Musukwa said.
