Atlas Mara Bank to sponsor Brenda Muntemba Award

ATLAS Mara Bank will be sponsoring the Brenda Muntemba Award for an emerging young leader at this year’s PUSH Women awards ceremony which will be held of the end of the month.

The Brenda Muntemba award, celebrates the next generation of change makers and reaffirms Atlas Mara’s commitment to supporting women who are achieving excellence in their area of work.

Speaking during the official handover of PUSH women awards sponsorship investment, Atlas Mara head of retail and digital banking, Teza Ngulube said the bank had a deliberate policy to support female led initiatives such as PUSH.

Mr Ngulube said the bank had elevated a number of women to key positions country-wide and that it paid particular attention to the financial inclusion agenda of leaving no one behind.

He said the sponsoring of the Brenda Muntemba Award for an emerging young leaders, fits well with Atlas Mara women’s proposition as the bank had been conducting mentorship sessions with young girls in some of local schools as well as capacity building workshops structured in partnership with like- minded organisations.

“Our partnership with PUSH is a great example of where our common goals can allow us make a difference in women’s lives,” Mr Ngulube said.

Meanwhile, PUSH Women Network executive director Colonel Mwizukanji Namwawa commended Atlas Mara bank for its support to the Network and for ultimately affirming the mantra that it takes a whole village to support a woman.
