UPND TAKES KALENGWA MINE WRANGLE TO PARLIAMENT

ACOURT action which has dragged for many years has delayed the opening of Kalengwa Mine in Mufumbwe District, North Western Province, Vice President Inonge WIna told Parliament on Friday.

She said it was not possible for government to make a decision when the matter was active in court adding that government was aware opening Kalengwa Mine would change the economic landscape of Mufumbwe.

The Vice President was responding to a question from UPND Mufumbwe MP Elliot Kamondo who wanted to get an update on the progress made to open the mine.

Kalengwa Mineral Processing Limited and Moxico Resources Zambia are in court over ownership of the mine in Mufumbwe District.
