Only parties with agenda rejected new voters roll

ONLY people who want to benefit from dead voters are rejecting changing the voters roll, Patriotic Front (PF) deputy Media Director Antonio Mwanza has said.

Speaking on Millennium Radio, Mr Mwanza said his party was in support of a new voter register and clean up with new security features and that only those who wanted to benefit from dead voters were the only ones that were opposing doing away with the old voters’ register.

Mr Mwanza noted that the same way that the opposition demanded for a new voter register in 2016 is the same that his party wants a new register so as to rid it off dead voters .

He said there was delimitation of districts , constituencies and polling stations that have changed and that most changes happened ten years ago which needed to be updated.

'' The people that don’t want the clean up are only those that want to benefit from dead voters . But for us we want a clean register, the same they demanded in 2016, new voter register with proper security features ,'' Mr Mwanza said.

And people must understand that constituencies and districts have changed over the years . So all these must be captured because the last voter register was done 10 years ago. So these have to be cleaned up and it’s important that this process is done.

And Mr Mwanza has backed the ECZ's voter registration period saying that it was possible for the ECZ to meet their target of voter registration in one Month.
